VIA Disc Patient Testimonial from Mr. Herndon
- Please explain how much pain you were in before the VIA Disc procedure?
In the year of 2009 that I really noticed the discomfort in what I thought was my hip. It was dull and restrictive feeling of pressure when flexing to the right side and discomfort coming back to straight position. Sometimes pain is all day long that could cover periods of time that vary from 3 days to a week. Pain on every movement downward to the right. At times movement could cause pain in the range of six to eight on a scale of 10.
2. Please explain some of the things/activities you were not able to do before the VIA Disc procedure?
Some of the restrictions I had was being afraid to stretch and exercise in problem areas involving lumbar which caused a weakened abdominal region and obesity. I was not able to keep an overall healthy, less stressful and painful lifestyle without having a lot of restraints associated with normal ranges of movement.
3. Please explain how much relief you received after the VIA Disc procedure?
After the first procedure I felt the difference right away within a few days it felt like some pressure in movement to the right was less. I had more flexibility going to the right in the days to come. I felt comfortable that a positive change had occurred after the procedure. My sleep improved over night and less medicine is used for sleep management. Mentally, I feel better about the future and the advancement of biomedical science that fuels the development of technological advancement in dealing with pain.
4. Please explain some of the new things/activities you can do after the VIA Disc procedure?
I’m able to start applying more stretching and abdominal exercises to my weekly workout greatly contributing to weight management and lowering BMI numbers. I keep a positive outlook and prolonged efforts to do my part in controlling less desirable pain that just interferes with everyday normal activities. Basically, I have more opportunities to explore and pretty much take it one step at a time in my future endeavors.
