Corporate Medical Director, American Anesthesiology of the Southeast - Joshua S. Miller, MD
Dr. Joshua Miller earned his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina. His residency was in anesthesiology at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine. Following his residency he completed a fellowship in pain management, also at Wake Forest. He is double board certified in anesthesiology and pain management. In 1990, Miller joined Southeast Anesthesiology Consultants and has served on the executive committee since 1992. Prior to his appointment as corporate medical director, he was the medical director for Southeast Pain and Spine Care, a specialty sub-practice of Southeast Anesthesiology, for over twenty years.
Southeast Pain and Spine Care Medical Director - Jon-David Hoppenfeld, MD
Dr. Hoppenfeld is a graduate of the Chicago Medical School. He completed his residency training at NYU and did a fellowship in interventional Pain Management at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Beth Israel Campus in NYC. He is board certified in Pain Management and Neurology and serves as Medical Director for Southeast Pain and Spine Care in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Dr. Hoppenfeld lectures on interventional pain management and is a published author. His most recent book is titled "Fundamentals of Pain Medicine, How to Diagnose and Treat Your Patients", 2014. He is also a medical advisor for Golf Digest.
Practice Director – American Anesthesiology of the Southeast – Robin Y. Amos, RT-R, MSML
Robin has over 25 years in healthcare and brings varying range of experience in the clinical and practice operations to Southeast Anesthesiology Consultants. Robin received her Associates Degree in Radiologic Technology from Forsyth Technical Community College with an additional year of studies in Cardiac Catheterization at Wake Forest Bowman Gray School of Medicine. She received her undergraduate degree in Health Care Administration from Gardner-Web University and her Masters of Management and Leadership from Montreat College. Prior to joining Southeast Anesthesiology and Pain, Robin served in various clinical and leadership positions with Novant Health and OrthoCarolina, most recently as the Administrator for the Mallard Creek Surgery Center in Charlotte, NC.
Southeast Pain Administrator - Denise T. Hensel, MS, CGC
Denise recently joined Southeast Anesthesiology as the Practice Administrator over the Southeast Pain Group. Denise comes to the group with over 25 years' experience in the healthcare arena serving both in the clinical setting as a Genetic Counselor and as an administrator in ambulatory operations and practice management. Denise earned her undergraduate degree in Biology from the College of William and Mary and a Master of Science from the University of South Carolina. Prior to joining Southeast Anesthesiology and Pain, Denise served in clinical/administrative leadership positions at Carolinas Healthcare System.
